Class Pictures

These are pieces I envision in a whole new classroom. Summer Projects Begin!
So I decided on fabrics, and boarders that were would work with my color family. I carried this book around ALL SUMMER LONG! It really helped. I had the dimensions of my room, and no guessing on colors!
Finally I put them together on a board...just to see if I was on the right track.
This is a peek at some of the items I've worked with. Magazine boxes are Ikea and Martha Stewart Stencils (from JoAnn Fabrics). The Waverly and Sunbrella fabrics were on sale, and I know they'll wear well. The shutter is a work in progress, and that story is to be continued. The hideous black desk chair was an inspiration from Pinterest! (I just love that site)

I'm off to school! The final results should be posted very soon so check back!

And finally some pictures to upload!

This is one of our working areas complete with Good Fit Book baskets. On the other side is the class library and another carpeted area where kiddos can work. Yep, my class is in the center of my room.  Kind of like circling around the sun!

Looking in from the door...Guided Reading Area. I slipcovered the clearance cubes for pennies. You might notice that I don't have the huge name tags on my student desks. I have a chart with lots of "extra" information for students. They can grab a chart, when needed, and sit in different areas of the room. I will be uploading my chart in "On the House".

Listening station...dog beds make great cushions for 2 students...and much cheaper than pillows. Kids Love Them!

We are learning about maps and time together! Kids love looking at the time zones...especially when relatives or friends live in another state.

Pennants, and my word for the year...Imagine! I'll download my pattern with measurement in "On The House".

Possibly the most important part of the room!

This our behavior chart. I bought it at Ikea for less than $10.00. It's the splatter  shield that goes behind the stove.  It's magnetic, and the beginning of each year I just replace the labels with my new students...easy and cheap! (Oh the black lines...Sharpie Marker)

Top: A shot of the Cafe Board
Bottom: Consequences for those challenging days...we all have them :)

At the end of the day...I turn on a little jazz and decompress... time to recharge for another day with some amazing kids!
